Requires DCYF to place a locked suggestion box in its facilities and create a digitally secured suggestion box into which residents may place comments and/or concerns to be addressed by the Rhode Island Child Advocate.
Amends the penalty for violating the provisions of the personal watercraft safety act from a misdemeanor to a violation and reduce the fine from five hundred dollars ($500) to a fine of two hundred fifty dollars ($250).
Permits euthanization of vicious dogs upon finding that dogs condition warrants euthanasia or after determination that there is no reasonable placement for the dog/provides any municipality that surrenders dog to RISPCA shall be responsible for costs.
Increases the number of state child care licensing inspectors to meet the national recommended average of one inspector for every fifty (50) to sixty (60) child care providers.
Creates a mandatory jail sentence of two (2) years for two (2) or more people who break and enter, ransack or smash doors or windows of any business with the intent to steal.
JOINT RESOLUTION MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $60,000 TO THE RHODE ISLAND FIRE ACADEMY (This resolution would authorize the appropriation of the sum of $60,000 to the Rhode Island Fire Academy for training to extinguish small to large lithium battery fires.)
Provides for paid leave for a state employee who donates an organ. The duration of the leave is dependent on the type of donation and notice should be provided to the employer at least thirty (30) days prior to the leave.
Provides that commercial driver instruction would include industry-specific training on the recognition, prevention, and reporting of human trafficking.
