JOINT RESOLUTION MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $1,600,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING FOR LEGAL ASSISTANCE AND HOUSING NAVIGATION RESOURCES (This resolution would authorize the appropriation of the sum of $1,600,000 to the Rhode Island Department of Housing.)
Recognizes tenants' unions and provides a procedure whereby the housing resources commission shall administer a hearing process for consolidated complaints filed by tenants' unions, pertaining to the rights and obligations of tenants and landlords.
Requires a housing code enforcement officer to give a copy of any housing code violation notice to all tenants of the building affected by a housing code violation along with any hearing dates scheduled for the violation.
Creates the division of civil representation within the department of housing and require civil representation by a Designated Legal Organization to provide legal representation to all tenants who qualify in eviction proceedings.
Mandates all insurance plans provide insurance coverage for diagnosing and treating infertility for women between the ages of 25 and 42 years including preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) in conjunction with in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Amends several provisions relative the powers and duties of the PUC and requires the submission by utilities of integrated distribution system plans identifying solutions to reduce greenhouse gases.
JOINT RESOLUTION MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $750,000 TO THE RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL FOR PROGRESSIVE EDUCATION OVER THREE FISCAL YEARS (This joint resolution would authorize the appropriation of the total sum of $750,000 to the Rhode Island School of Progressive Education, a period of over three fiscal years, to be distributed in three (3) equal installments.)
Requires, by January 1, 2026, the creation of an online, publicly available, comprehensive statewide geographic information system of land related resources to include information from all towns and cities.
Brings greater public scrutiny to the public auction sales of real estate in Rhode Island by requiring public auctions by any city or town of real estate or an interest therein shall only be done in person, not by electronic or remote procedures.
