RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS -- MECHANICAL TRADES

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 28-27 of the General Laws entitled "Mechanical Trades" is hereby 1
amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
28-27-5.4. HVAC person's limited license. 3
A PJF limited HVAC service person's license shall be granted to any person who has passed 4
an examination before the division. It shall specify the name of the person, who shall thereby be 5
authorized to work on repairing electric wiring and equipment located in or on heating and air 6
conditioning systems, only to the extent necessary to service, maintain and repair the heating and 7
air conditioning equipment. 8
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 9

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

This act would authorize the issuance of a PJF limited HVAC service person's license upon 1
examination authorizing work on or repair of the electrical wiring and equipment located on heating 2
and air conditioning systems only to the extent necessary to service, maintain and repair the 3
equipment. 4
This act would take effect upon passage. 5
