RELATING TO EDUCATION -- CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 16-45.1 of the General Laws entitled "Career and Technical 1
Education [See Title 16 Chapter 97 — The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]" is hereby 2
amended by adding thereto the following section: 3
16-45.1-4. Mandatory technical education. 4
All public accredited high schools shall be required to provide instruction on technical and 5
vocational training to students. The department of education in conjunction with each local school 6
board or school legislative body shall approve the curriculum that shall be taught to students in the 7
area of technical and vocational training. 8
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on August 1, 2023. 9
