RELATING TO BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONS -- PROFESSIONAL OR OCCUPATIONAL
LICENSE

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Title 5 of the General Laws entitled "BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS" 1
is hereby amended by adding thereto the following chapter: 2
CHAPTER 93 3
PROFESSIONAL OR OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE INDEPENDENCE ACT 4
5-93-1. Short title. 5
This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Professional or Occupational License 6
Independence Act". 7
5-93-2. Lawful presence requirement prohibited. 8
Notwithstanding the provisions of any other general law, special law, rule, or regulation, 9
to the contrary, lawful presence in the United States shall not be required to obtain a professional 10
or occupational license, under this chapter or any other chapter of the general laws, provided, that 11
the applicant meets all other requirements for licensure. 12
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 13

as all other requirements for licensure are met. 2
