AMENDING AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE STONE BRIDGE FIRE DISTRICT AND TO
FURNISH A SUPPLY OF WATER FOR THE TOWN O F TIVERTON

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Chapter 974 of the Rhode Island Public Laws of 1940, as 1
amended, entitled “AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE STONE BRIDGE FIRE DISTRICT AND 2
TO FURNISH A SUPPLY OF WATER FOR THE TOWN OF TIVERTON , AND APPROVED 3
BY THE VOTERS OF SAID DISTRICT AT A DULY CALLED MEETING HELD ON JULY 4
12, 2022, is hereby amended to read as follows: 5
Sec. 2. The taxable inhabitants of said district qualified to vote in town affairs on 6
propositions to impose a tax for the expenditure of money shall be electors of said district and as 7
such shall be eligible to vote and act in all meetings of the district. 8
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage, having already been approved by 9
district residents on July 12, 2022. 10

This act would amend AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE STONE BRIDGE FIRE 1
DISTRICT AND TO FURNISH A SUPPLY OF WATER FOR THE TOWN OF TIVERTON, in 2
order to clarify the eligibility of district residents to vote at district meetings. 3
This act would take effect upon passage, having already been approved by district residents 4
on July 12, 2022. 5
