Chapter 27-18 of the General Laws entitled "Accident and Sickness Insurance 1 Policies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 27-18-82. Dependent health insurance protection. 3 For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 4 employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 5 eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 6 health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 7 SECTION 2. Chapter 27-19 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Hospital Service 8 Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 9 27-19-83. Dependent health insurance protection. 10 For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 11 employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 12 eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 13 health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 14 SECTION 3. Chapter 27-20 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Medical Service 15 Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 16 27-20-79. Dependent health insurance protection. 17 For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 18 employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 19 LC002793 - Page 2 of 3 eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 1 health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 2 SECTION 4. Chapter 27-41 of the General Laws entitled "Health Maintenance 3 Organizations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 4 27-41-96. Dependent health insurance protection. 5 For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 6 employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 7 eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 8 health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 9 SECTION 5.
