EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF MR. FRANK R. BURSIE

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Frank 1
R. Bursie of Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of Cathy Bursie for thirty-seven years; and 2
WHEREAS, Mr. Bursie was born in Providence, the son of the late Matteo and Millie 3
Bursie. He was a dedicated public servant who served as the Commissioner of Public Safety for 4
the Town of North Providence for many years, and was well known for his tireless work ethic and 5
abiding integrity. He was also a devoted husband and father who daily strove to provide for his 6
family and loved ones; and 7
WHEREAS, In retirement, Mr. Bursie enjoyed working at the Crystal Lake Country Club 8
and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren; and 9
WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Cathy, Mr. Bursie leaves behind his sons, Sgt. 10
Brandon Bursie, N.P.P.D., and his wife, Fallon, and Brett Bursie and his wife, Stephanie. He also 11
leaves behind his granddaughter, Madelyn, and his expected granddaughter in May, Francesca, 12
his nephew, Donald, and his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was the 13
brother of the late Janice Ruszkowski; now, therefore be it 14
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest 15
condolences on the passing of Frank M. Bursie; and be it further 16
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 17

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Cathy Bursie and Family. 1
