EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE P ASSING OF RONALD F. HEROUX

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Ronald 1 
F. Heroux of Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene Heroux; and 2 
WHEREAS, Mr. Heroux was born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Pierre and Clara 3 
Heroux. He was a patriot who served our nation with honor in the United States Navy from 1960 4 
to 1964, and had been in the submarine service during the Cuban Missile Crisis; and 5 
WHEREAS, Mr. Heroux was a dedicated public servant who served the citizens of 6 
Woonsocket with distinction as a member of the Woonsocket Police Department, retiring in 2003 7 
after thirty years of service. He was known for his strong work ethic and for working tirelessly to 8 
protect the public and provide for his family and loved ones; and 9 
WHEREAS, Mr. Heroux was a member of the Woonsocket Elks and was a 32nd degree 10 
Mason with Morning Star Lodge #13 Freemasons. He was also a lifetime member of the St. 11 
Joseph Veterans Association. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking and was a member of the 12 
Garlic Connection; and 13 
WHEREAS, Mr. Heroux leaves behind his sons, Michael Heroux and his wife, 14 
Katherine, Bruce Heroux and his wife, Michele, and Alan LeClaire and his partner, Margaux 15 
Morriseau. He is also survived by his brothers, Pierre Heroux and Richard Heroux, eight 16 
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and his companion Jo-Ann Rondeau. He was 17 
predeceased by his daughter, Vickie Heroux; now, therefore be it 18 
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest 19 
condolences on the passing of Ronald F. Heroux; and be it further 20

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Michael Heroux, Bruce Heroux, and Alan 2
