RELATING TO PUBIC PROPERTY AND WORKS -- STATE PURCHASES

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 37-2-22 of the General Laws in Chapter 37-2 entitled "State 1
Purchases" is hereby amended to read as follows: 2
37-2-22. Small purchases. 3
(a) Procurements, not to exceed an aggregate amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for 4
construction and five thousand dollars ($5,000) for all other purchases may be made in accordance 5
with small purchase regulations promulgated by the chief purchasing officer. Procurement 6
requirements shall not be artificially divided so as to constitute a small purchase under this section. 7
(b) Any municipality may, by ordinance or resolution, increase the minimum bid for small 8
purchases to ten thousand dollars ($10,000). 9
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 10
