S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N 
URGING ALL RHODE ISLANDERS TO JOIN TOGETHER IN STRONGLY CONDEMNING 
ANY AND ALL FORMS OF ANTISEMITISM

WHEREAS, Antisemitism is a virulent and disgraceful form of hate and persecution that 1 
continues to assault our humanity; and  2 
WHEREAS, In recent years, our state and our country has been plagued with a clear and 3 
troubling pattern of increased aggression and cruelty against Jewish persons; and  4 
WHEREAS, In 2021, the United States endured 2,717 antisemitic attacks, the highest 5 
incidence of assault, harassment and vandalism against Jewish persons in more than forty years; 6 
and    7 
WHEREAS, In November of 2022, Rhode Island suffered an escalation in these vicious 8 
attacks with the systematic distribution of hundreds of leaflets containing antisemitic propaganda 9 
throughout neighborhoods in Providence, Warwick and North Providence; and    10 
WHEREAS, These malevolent acts are an affront to our State's Jewish community and to 11 
all Rhode Island citizens; and  12 
WHEREAS, Antisemitism in any form breeds violence and it is essential that police, 13 
businesses, individuals and law makers at all levels step forward to call out, report, and play an 14 
essential role in denouncing and counteracting the resurgence of any and all antisemitism in our 15 
State; and  16 
WHEREAS, As individuals, as a state, and as a nation, Americans of all races, creeds and 17 
colors must unite against the vile antisemitism, bigotry, and the rage that continues to plague our 18 
world; now, therefore be it 19

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby comprehensively and 1 
completely denounces bigotry, prejudice, and antisemitism. We moreover condemn the 2 
ideologies of all hate groups who systematically judge, minimize, persecute, or obstruct 3 
individuals based on religion, skin color, or gender; and be it further  4 
RESOLVED, That this Senate urges all Rhode Islanders and all Americans to unite 5 
against those who espouse all forms of hatred, discrimination, and violence, and to stand with our 6 
Jewish community, friends, and neighbors "so no one stands alone"; and be it further 7 
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 8 
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island.  9
