RELATING TO MILITARY AFFAIRS AND DEFENSE -- EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 
SECTION 1. Chapter 30-15 of the General Laws entitled "Emergency Management" is 1 
hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 
30-15-12.1. Local emergency management - Coastal Community Appropriation - 3 
Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force.     4 
(a) The general assembly shall include in the annual appropriation to the Rhode Island 5 
emergency management agency, the amount of one hundred thirty thousand dollars ($130,000) to 6 
be distributed to coastal communities participating in the Narragansett Bay marine task force 7 
(NBMTF) for the maintenance of boats that provide services to Narragansett Bay. 8 
(b) The funds shall be distributed to the coastal communities as follows:  9 
(1) Providence, East Providence, Cranston, Newport, Warwick and North Kingstown shall 10 
receive the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) annually per community; and 11 
(2) East Greenwich, Narragansett, Barrington, Warren, Bristol, Portsmouth, Middletown, 12 
Jamestown, Tiverton and Little Compton shall receive the sum of six thousand dollars ($6,000) 13 
annually per community. 14 
(c) This section shall sunset on July 1, 2031. 15 
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on July 1, 2023 and sunset on July 1, 2031. 16

RELATING TO MILITARY AFFAIRS AND DEFENSE -- EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

This act would provide for an annual appropriation of state funds to the Rhode Island 1 
emergency management agency to be distributed to coastal communities who are members of the 2 
Narragansett Bay marine task force (NBMTF) for the maintenance of boats providing services to 3 
Narragansett Bay. 4 
This act would take effect on July 1, 2023 and sunset on July 1, 2031. 5
