COLE Introduced By: Representatives McNamara, Shekarchi, Blazejewski, Chippendale, Ackerman, Solomon, Fogarty, Tanzi, Shallcross Smith, and Ajello Date Introduced: January 23, 2025 Referred To: House read and passed WHEREAS, It is with deepest condolences that this House of Representatives has 1 learned of the passing of Warren D. Cole. Mr. Cole was the beloved husband of the late Barbara 2 A. Cole and the fiancé of Lori Brierly; and 3 WHEREAS, Warren was born in Providence, a son of the late H. Warren and Margaret 4 Cole. Mr. Cole was a hard-working man who strove daily to provide for his family and loved 5 ones. He worked as a rigger for General Dynamics Electric Boat, Quonset, for Offshore Oil Rig 6 Western Oceanic Shell Oil, and for General Dynamics Electric Boat, Groton; and 7 WHEREAS, Mr. Cole was a member of the RI Greyhound Owner's Association-Twin 8 Rivers, the Pawtuxet Athletic Club, and the East Greenwich Fireman's Association. He also won 9 the 1990 Topsfield Fair Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off with "Big Wally" weighing 920 pounds, an 10 achievement he was very proud of accomplishing; and 11 WHEREAS, Warren Cole was a man of deep faith and was an active member of the 12 Asbury United Methodist Church in Warwick. Mr. Cole was a member of the United States Army 13 and served our nation with honor and distinction He also often played "Taps" on the trumpet 14 honoring the veterans being buried at the RI Veterans Cemetery; and 15 WHEREAS, Warren Cole leaves behind his sister, Nancy Marion, his niece Kate Andrew 16 and his nephew Eric Brown. Mr. Cole is also survived by his stepdaughter, Anastacia Conti, three 17 step-grandsons, John and Ron Wright, and Steve Dobson, and one step-great granddaughter Eliza 18 Conti; now, therefore be it 19 RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby 20 LC000766 - Page 2 of 2 expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Warren D.
