RELATING TO TOWNS AN D CITIES - BURRILLVILLE AND GLOCESTER PUBLIC
NOTICE ACT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Title 45 of the General Laws entitled "TOWNS AND CITIES" is hereby 1
amended by adding thereto the following chapter: 2

BURRILLVILLE AND GLOCESTER PUBLIC NOTICE ACT 4
45-71-1. Burrillville and Glocester public notice requirements. 5
Notwithstanding any public or general law to the contrary, effective January 1, 2026, 6
whenever it is required under this title or any other provision of the general laws that any notice or 7
publication be published by the town of Burrillville or the town of Glocester, in a public newspaper, 8
the notice may be published in any newspaper in general circulation within either of the 9
municipalities or other designated digital or print platform selected by the town council of either 10
municipality, which may be reasonably demonstrated to reach a larger portion of the population 11
within each such municipality, than a newspaper in general circulation. 12
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 13

This act would allow the towns of Burrillville and Glocester to publish notices in any 1
newspaper in general circulation within either of the municipalities. This act would also allow 2
publication in other designated digital or print platforms selected by their city or town councils. 3
This act would take effect upon passage. 4
