HONORING AND RECOGNIZING EMILY SANTERRE FOR BEING NAMED MISS 
IRELAND IN THE ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE IN WEST WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND

WHEREAS, The State of Rhode Island takes great pride in celebrating the rich Irish 1 
heritage and traditions that have contributed to the cultural fabric of our state and nation; and 2 
WHEREAS, St. Patrick's Day is a time-honored occasion that brings communities 3 
together in joyous celebration, and the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade serves as a meaningful 4 
tribute to Irish culture, history, and contributions to society; and 5 
WHEREAS, Emily Santerre has been selected as Miss Ireland for the West Warwick St. 6 
Patrick's Day Parade, an honor that recognizes her outstanding character, leadership, and 7 
embodiment of Irish heritage and pride; and 8 
WHEREAS, Emily Santerre's selection as Miss Ireland reflects her dedication to 9 
community service, cultural appreciation, and her role as a positive representative of Irish-10 
American traditions; and 11 
WHEREAS, Her participation in the parade as Miss Ireland is a testament to her 12 
commitment to celebrating and preserving the values and spirit of the Irish community in Rhode 13 
Island; and 14 
WHEREAS, Emily, a distinguished member of the graduating class of 2025, has 15 
consistently demonstrated outstanding academic achievement as a member of the National Honor 16 
Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Spanish Honor Society, while also holding leadership roles 17 
such as Treasurer in both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta; and 18 
WHEREAS, Emily has excelled in athletics as a multi-sport athlete in soccer, basketball, 19

and track and field, serving as a team captain in each sport, achieving multiple all-division and 1 
allĀ­academic honors, and playing a key role in securing state and class championships, including 2 
setting a school record in pole vaulting at 9'0"; now, therefore be it 3 
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby extends its 4 
congratulations and best wishes to Emily Santerre on this prestigious recognition and commend 5 
her for her contributions to the community; and be it further 6 
RESOLVED, That this Senate hereby honors and recognizes Emily Santerre for being 7 
named Miss Ireland in the St. Patrick's Day Parade and extends sincere appreciation for her 8 
dedication to Irish heritage and community pride; and be it further 9 
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 10 
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Emily Santerre and her family. 11
