Fiscal Impact Summary 
This concurrent resolution allows the General Assembly to apply to the Congress of the United 
States for the calling of a convention of the states with the purpose of proposing an amendment 
to the United States Constitution related to setting limits on the number of terms a person may be 
elected to the United States House of Representatives or Senate.  
 
The Secretary of State is directed to transmit copies of this application to the President and 
Secretary of the Senate of the United States, the Speaker, Clerk, and Judiciary Committee 
Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Congress of the United States, the members of 
the Senate and House of Representatives from this state, and the presiding officers of each of the 
legislative houses in all states, requesting their cooperation. The Secretary of State’s Office 
(SOS) indicates that this responsibility would be handled with existing staff and resources. 
Therefore, there will be no expenditure impact.
