Page 1 of 2 H. 3022 Fiscal Impact Summary This bill replaces the Chairman of the Joint Legislative Health Care Planning and Oversight Committee with the Director of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) on the Long-Term Care Council (council). Additionally, this bill changes that the Governor, instead of the Lieutenant Governor, appoints a representative for long-term care providers and a representative for long-term care consumers to the council. Further, this bill corrects references to certain agencies with membership on the council and requires member agencies to share data with other member agencies. This bill also establishes that the council shall work to establish and maintain a statewide access system for consumers to access long-term supports and services. This bill will have no expenditure impact on the Department of Public Health (DPH), the Governor’s Office, the Department of Mental Health (DMH), or the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN). DPH, DMH, and DDSN anticipate that any additional duties required by this bill can be managed with existing staff and appropriations. The requirements of this bill are in the normal course of business for the Governor’s Office. The Department of Social Services (DSS), the Department of Aging (aging), and DVA are continuing to analyze the impact of this bill. This fiscal impact is pending, contingent upon a response from these agencies.
