Fiscal Impact Summary
This bill adds the Attorney General to the Commission on Prosecution Coordination, modifies
the duties of the commission, and authorizes the Attorney General or his designee to be present
during the administration of capital punishment. Implementation of the bill will have no
expenditure impact on the Office of the Attorney General or the Commission on Prosecution
Coordination.
Explanation of Fiscal Impact
Introduced on January 28, 2025
State Expenditure
This bill adds as a member of the Commission on Prosecution Coordination the Attorney
General during the term for which he is elected. The Attorney General will be a non-voting
advisory member of the commission. In addition, the bill provides that all five judicial circuit
solicitors will be appointed by the Governor for a term of four years, regardless of their initial
appointment dates. The bill also removes from the commission’s duties the requirement of
providing blank indictments for State circuit solicitors and authorizes the Attorney General or his
designee to be present during the administration of capital punishment.

As the bill will not require the Office of the Attorney General or the Commission on Prosecution
Coordination to perform duties outside of the normal scope of business, it will have no
expenditure impact.
