BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA: 2
Section 1. That ยง 2-14-2.1 be AMENDED: 3
2-14-2.1. As used in the South Dakota Codified Laws to direct any action, the: 4
(1) The term "must" manifests a mandatory directive and does not confer any 5
discretion in carrying out the action so directed; and 6
(2) The term, "shall," manifests a mandatory directive and does not confer any 7
discretion in carrying out the action so directed. 8
