An Act to modify the composition and staffing requirements of the South Dakota -1 Ireland Trade Commission. 2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA: 3 Section 1. That § 1-57-2 be AMENDED: 4 1-57-2. The South Dakota-Ireland Trade Commission consists of: 5 (1) Two members of the Senate, appointed by the president pro tempore of the 6 Senate; 7 (2) Two members of the House of Representatives, appointed by the speaker of the 8 House; 9 (3) A representative of a private sector association headquartered in this state and 10 focused on the promotion of international trade, appointed by the Executive Board 11 of the Legislative Research Council; and 12 (4) The secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, or the 13 secretary's designeeAn officer of the Executive Branch, appointed by the Governor; 14 (5) A representative of a South Dakota private industry, appointed by the president 15 pro tempore of the Senate; and 16 (6) A representative of a South Dakota private industry, appointed by the speaker of 17 the House of Representatives. 18 Each appointed member shall serve for a term of two years and may be reappointed 19 without limit. If a position becomes vacant, the position must be filled, for the duration of 20 the term, in the same manner as the original appointment. 21 Section 2. That § 1-57-3 be AMENDED: 22 1-57-3.
