A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Celebrating and honoring Tabor's Czech Days 1
annual festivities on the occasion of its seventy -sixth anniversary. 2
WHEREAS, Czech immigrants have enriched the culture of South Dakota with their 3
exceptional achievements in traditional music, literature, and art, and are known for their 4
love of agriculture, mechanical arts, and democracy, which they strive to preserve for future 5
generations; and 6
WHEREAS, this year's Czech Days Royalty are Queen Gracie Pechous, Princess Kara 7
Stutzman, and Prince Coltor Manas; and 8
WHEREAS, Czech Days offers a variety of exhibits, attractions, events, and entertainment, 9
including the Czech Heritage Museum; Blachnik Museum; St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church; 10
programs for adults and children in Sokol Park; live Czech music in Beseda Hall; a variety of 11
Czech foods, including kolaches; kolache baking and dumpling making demonstrations; adult 12
and youth parades; a craft fair and quilt show; a pedal tractor pull; a Bohemian tractor pull; 13
a Tabor Bluebirds amateur baseball game; and the Rich Schild Memorial Fireworks Display to 14
start the celebration on the evening of June 19; 15
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State 16
of South Dakota, that this is the year of the seventy-sixty Tabor Czech Days Celebration, 17
which will be held from June 19 through 21, 2025. 18
