FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-6-3001(c)(1), LEAs are required to remit copies of a student’s records, including disciplinary records, to the school to which the student transfers, if in the same LEA, or to the LEA to which the student transfers. • The proposed legislation requires LEAs to transfer student records within three days of the transfer date if the student enrolls into a different school within the same LEA or a new LEA. • LEAs will be able to remit student records within the specified timeframe utilizing existing staff and resources. Any fiscal impact is estimated to be not significant. CERTIFICATION: The information contained herein is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. Bojan Savic, Executive Director
