SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires a local education agency (LEA) to permit virtual school
students to participate in interscholastic athletics if the virtual school students satisfy eligibility
requirements.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumption:
• Establishing that a virtual student cannot be prohibited from participating in interscholastic
athletic events based on solely on the status of being a virtual student will not affect
processes or procedures at LEAs. Any fiscal impact is estimated to be not significant.
