SUMMARY OF BILL:    Requires the Tennessee Commission on Intergovernmental 
Relations (TACIR) to study, utilizing existing resources, the economic impact that the cosmetology 
and barbering professions have in this state, including revenue generated through the services 
provided and the number of jobs generated by the professions. Requires TACIR to report its 
findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the chairs of certain legislative 
committees and to provide a copy of the report to the Legislative Librarian.  
 
 
FISCAL IMPACT: 
 
NOT SIGNIFICANT 
      
 Assumption: 
 
• According to TACIR, the study may be performed utilizing existing staff and resources; 
therefore, any increase in state expenditures is estimated to be not significant.
