SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires the Commissioner of Health (Commissioner) to add alpha-
gal syndrome to the Department of Health's (DOH) published list of reportable diseases and
conditions by July 1, 2025, the occurrence of which must be reported to DOH by a healthcare
provider pursuant to administrative rule.

FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT

 Assumptions:

• Pursuant to DOH rule 1200-14-01.02(2), the Commissioner shall re-evaluate, update, and
post the list of reportable diseases at least annually and from time to time as appropriate.
• It is estimated that DOH can add alpha-gal syndrome to the published list of reportable
diseases utilizing existing resources, without an increase in expenditures.
• Requiring healthcare providers to report an occurrence of alpha-gal syndrome to DOH will
not have a significant impact on the operations of DOH or the health-related boards.
