Declares that such a building in compliance with the specific standards is exempt from needing automatic fire sprinkler systems. FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 68-120-101, the State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) is required to establish building construction standards. Such standards are required to afford a reasonable degree of safety to life and property from fire and hazards incident to the design, construction, alteration and repair of buildings or structures. • The provisions of the legislation will not significantly affect the current regulatory procedures of the SFMO, state, or local governments. • Any expenditures required to meet the relevant standards will be borne by private or nonprofit entities. • Any fiscal impact to state or local government is estimated to be not significant. IMPACT TO COMMERCE: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumption: • The provisions of the proposed legislation will not result in any significant impact to jobs or commerce in Tennessee.
