'.; ~,:., ~ ......... ~tate of \!Cennessee PUBLIC CHAPTER NO. 59 HOUSE BILL NO. 486 By Representatives Boyd, Hale, Powers Substituted for: Senate Bill No. 865 By Senator Reeves AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 2, Chapter 10, relative to campaign finance. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-10-1 0S(b), is amended by deleting the subsection and substituting: ( 1) Each candidate for local public office shall file with each county election commission of the county where the election is held a statement of all contributions received and all expenditures made by or on behalf of such candidate. The statement of each candidate for local public office shall include the date of the receipt of each contribution. (2) Each political campaign committee for a local election or candidate shall file with the registry of election finance a statement of all contributions received and all expenditures made by or on behalf of the committee. The statement of each committee must be filed in the same manner and include the same information as a statement filed under subsection (a). SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-10-108(c), is amended by deleting the subsection and substituting: (c) All sworn complaints on a statement of: (1) A candidate for local public office must be filed in the office of the district attorney general who represents the judicial district in which the voter resides; or (2) A local political campaign committee must be filed in the office of the registry of election finance. SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2023, the public welfare requiring it.
