Specifies that an athletic trainer is a healthcare provider. Expands the nature of athletic injuries that may be treated by an athletic trainer. FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • The Board of Athletic Trainers (Board) can promulgate rules to effectuate the legislation in the course of regular business, without a significant increase in expenditures. • Expanding the scope of practice of athletic trainers will not result in a significant change in the number of licensed athletic trainers in the state, or the amount of licensing revenue collected by the Board. • Any fiscal impact to the Board or the Department of Health is estimated to be not significant.
