HB 671

SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires each court of record with criminal jurisdiction to publish
the approved list of professional bondsmen or other sureties on the court's website.

FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT

 Assumptions:

• Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 40-11-124(a), each court of record with criminal jurisdiction
is required to keep a list of professional bondsmen or other sureties that have been
approved and qualified as solvent by the court. Such list must be made available to inferior
courts.
• The proposed legislation requires each list to be published on the court’s website.
• It is assumed that courts can fulfill the proposed requirement by using existing resources;
therefore, any fiscal impact to state or local courts is estimated to be not significant.
