SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires the Tennessee Advisory Commission on
Intergovernmental Relations (TACIR) to study and prepare a report on recommendations for
establishing sustainable funding sources that meet this state’s future transportation needs. Requires
TACIR to conduct the study from existing resources and to report its findings to the chair of the
committee of the House of Representatives having jurisdiction over transportation matters, the chair
of the Transportation and Safety Committee of the Senate, and the Legislative Librarian by January
15, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumption:
• According to TACIR, the study may be performed utilizing existing staff and resources;
therefore, any increase in state expenditures is estimated to be not significant.
