SUMMARY OF BILL:    Decreases, from two to one, the number of sureties required to sign 
a written undertaking submitted to a court by a defendant seeking to secure a bail bond by real 
estate. 
 
 
FISCAL IMPACT: 
NOT SIGNIFICANT 
  
 Assumption: 
 
• The decrease in surety signatures required for written undertakings for certain bail bonds is 
not estimated to significantly impact the number of defendants who are able to secure a bail 
bond. Any fiscal impact on local incarceration expenditures is estimated to be not 
significant.
