SUMMARY OF BILL: Extends, from 30 days to 45 days, the period of time by which the
Office of Open Records Counsel (Counsel) is required to have acknowledged and reported back to a
local governing body (LGB) regarding a plan it submitted detailing how LGB will comply with
applicable statute concerning electronic meetings.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumption:
• Extending the period of time afforded to the Counsel to respond back to plans submitted
by LGBs will have no impact on state or local government operations.
