SUMMARY OF BILL: Enacts the Dismantling DEI Departments Act. Prohibits a department,
agency, or other unit of state government such as a county, municipal, metropolitan government, or
public institution of higher education from maintaining or authorizing an office or department that
promotes or requires discriminatory preferences to increase diversity, equity, or inclusion. Declares
all mandates, policies, programs, activities, guidance, regulations, enforcement actions, consent
orders, or other declarations by such an office or department as void.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• Based on the information provided by the various institutions of government and public
institutions of higher education, each entity can comply with the proposed legislation within
existing resources.
• The provisions of the legislation are not estimated to result in a significant impact to state
or local governments.
