SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires the Comptroller of the Treasury (COT) to report to the
General Assembly when a county election commission has redrawn precinct lines to ensure no split
precincts in legislative districts.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 3-1-102(g), county election commissions are required, with
the assistance of the COT, to redraw or establish any precinct lines to ensure there will be
no split precincts in legislative districts.
• The COT can report any such occurrence to the General Assembly, utilizing existing
resources; therefore, this legislation will have no significant fiscal impact on state
government.
