SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires a local board of education to notify the Department of
Education (DOE) if it declares itself a high-performing school district. Requires the DOE to publish
a list of local education agencies that are high-performing school districts on the department's
website.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumption:
• Local boards of education and the DOE will be able to comply with the requirement of the
proposed legislation within existing resources and during the normal course of business,
without a significant increase in expenditures.
