SUMMARY OF BILL: Proposes amending Article I of the Constitution of Tennessee by
adding the provision that equality of rights under the law shall not be abridged or denied by the State
or an instrumentality of the State on account of sex.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• The proposed amendment will be published on the official websites of the Secretary of
State and of the General Assembly, in accordance with Article XI, Section 3 of the
Constitution of Tennessee.
• Any increase in state expenditures associated with publication is considered not significant.
• Any increase in state expenditures to prepare a copy of this resolution is estimated not
significant.
