A RESOLUTION to recognize Michael Ayers Wimberley on 
becoming an Eagle Scout. 
 
 WHEREAS, at a time when this nation's youth face difficult challenges, the Boy Scouts 
of America is one of our finest assets, providing young men and women with an educational 
program that contributes significantly to their character development, citizenship training, and 
improved mental and physical fitness; and 
 WHEREAS, the highest rank a Scout can attain in the Boy Scouts of America Scouts 
BSA program is that of Eagle Scout, and Michael Ayers Wimberley, after considerable effort and 
diligent preparation, attained the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout on October 31, 2024; and 
 WHEREAS, his notable record of achievement as a member of Boy Scout Troop 387, 
chartered by Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, includes thirty-six merit badges and 
over 116 hours of distinguished volunteer service, including his Eagle project of building a 
historically accurate lean-to for Exchange Place in Kingsport; and 
 WHEREAS, Michael's Eagle project greatly contributed to the betterment of his 
community, reflected the true spirit of volunteerism, and proved to be a formidable, yet 
attainable, challenge; and 
 WHEREAS, his troop has recognized his superlative qualities in leadership and service 
and honored him with their Scout of the Year Award and Paul Davis Leadership Award; and 
 WHEREAS, Michael's enthusiasm for Scouting led him to participate in High Adventure 
trips to the BSA Sea Base, Northern Tier, and Philmont Scout Ranch, and he has attended 
summer camp at Camp Davy Crockett for six consecutive summers, camping a total of seventy-
eight nights; and

 WHEREAS, apart from his time as a Scout, Michael is a senior at Dobyns Bennett High 
School, and in all of his endeavors, he promotes great pride in his parents, Matthew and Cecile 
Wimberley; and 
 WHEREAS, it is appropriate that we should pause to recognize Michael Ayers 
Wimberley as one of the most outstanding young people in our State; now, therefore,  
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED 
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE 
CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and congratulate Michael Ayers Wimberley on becoming 
an Eagle Scout and extend to him our best wishes for every future success. 
 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to 
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear 
without House or Senate designation.
