<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 250 By Camper HJR0250 003701 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor and commend John Jones for his contributions to the State of Tennessee. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should specially recognize those estimable individuals who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as community leaders of whom we can all be proud; and WHEREAS, one such noteworthy person is John Jones, a highly respected individual who has dedicated himself to serving his community and living an active and healthy lifestyle during his retirement; and WHEREAS, born on January 30, 1955, in Tunica, Mississippi, John Jones relocated to Memphis after his graduation from Rosa Fort High School; and WHEREAS, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Jones enjoys the love and support of his wife of forty-three years, Angela Jones, and their two sons, Timothy and Reginald, and three grandchildren, Tamia, Lyric, and Bailee; and WHEREAS, before taking his well-deserved retirement, Mr. Jones was employed as a truck driver for FedEx, where he earned a reputation for his dedication and strong work ethic; and WHEREAS, he is an active and faithful member of Breath of Life Christian Center, where he assists in baptisms, senior fellowship, security, and wherever he may be needed; and WHEREAS, Mr. Jones's commitment to his community and his faith is evident through his tireless efforts to support local initiatives, including his participation, at the age of sixty-nine, in the St. Jude Marathon, completing the entire twenty-six-mile course for the second consecutive year this past December; and - 2 - 003701 WHEREAS, John Jones epitomizes the spirit and commitment that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly acknowledge this esteemed gentleman; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GEN ERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we honor and commend John Jones for his lifetime of contributions to his community and the State of Tennessee and extend to him our best wishes for much continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
