A RESOLUTION to commemorate Motorcycle Safety and 
Awareness Month in Tennessee, May 2025.  
 
 WHEREAS, safety is the highest priority for the streets and highways of our State and its 
cities; and  
 WHEREAS, many thousands of Tennessee residents and visitors enjoy motorcycling as 
an energy-efficient mode of transportation and as an enjoyable recreational activity; and  
 WHEREAS, increased awareness and knowledge of the rules of the road, combined 
with the development of good riding/driving skills, are necessary for the safe operation of all 
vehicles; and  
 WHEREAS, education of both motorcycle riders and operators of other motor vehicles is 
necessary to reduce the pain, suffering, and economic losses caused by traffic crashes; and  
 WHEREAS, the Department of Safety trains up to 10,000 Tennessee citizens per year to 
safely ride motorcycles through the Motorcycle Rider Education Program that is supported by 
additional dollars paid through motorcyclists' registrations; and 
 WHEREAS, the Concerned Motorcyclists of Tennessee/American Bikers Active Towards 
Education, the National Motorcycle Riders Foundation, and the Tennessee Confederation of 
Clubs are instrumental in saving lives through their volunteerism in safety and awareness 
programs; now, therefore,  
 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED 
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE 
CONCURRING, that we join with the good people of the Volunteer State in commemorating 
Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month in Tennessee, May 2025.

 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared 
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to 
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear 
without House or Senate designation.
