<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 610 By Faison HJR0610 007235 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor Sam W. Hinchey on the occasion of his retirement from Jefferson County Schools. WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly take great pleasure in recognizing an exemplary school bus driver who has provided dedicated service daily to the students under his charge in ways both large and small; and WHEREAS, for fifty-four years, Sam W. Hinchey has undertaken the great responsibility of transporting children of all ages to and from school by bus, and forty-eight of those years have been spent in service to Jefferson County Schools and its students; and WHEREAS, a popular fixture in the school system and the community, Mr. Hinchey is a particular favorite among the members of the Jefferson County Youth Leadership program, as he provides the transportation for their field trips; and WHEREAS, a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary, Mr. Hinchey is an ordained minister who has shepherded the flocks of several churches in the community as their pastor, leading his congregations to a closer relationship with God and a fuller spiritual life; and WHEREAS, a true product of Jefferson County, Mr. Hinchey received his education at three institutions in the county—Jefferson Grammar School, Jefferson County High School, and Carson-Newman College; and WHEREAS, after fifty-four years at the wheel, Mr. Hinchey is taking his much-deserved retirement, but his legacy will live on through the many grateful students he has served and protected during his illustrious career; and WHEREAS, Sam W. Hinchey is worthy of our approbation as he achieves this major milestone; now, therefore, - 2 - 007235 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we honor Sam W. Hinchey on his outstanding fifty-four-year career as a school bus driver, thank him for his proficient service to Jefferson County Schools and its students, and extend to him our best wishes for continued success and happiness during his retirement years. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
