<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 692 By Keisling HJR0692 007953 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor Craig Norris upon the occasion of his retirement from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. WHEREAS, Wildlife Officer Craig Norris is taking a much-deserved retirement from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) after dedicating thirty-five years of service to the State of Tennessee, primarily in Pickett County; and WHEREAS, Officer Norris's organizational skills and knowledge of Pickett County provided great support for the county's residents and the agency mission he served; and WHEREAS, after serving his first two years as a wildlife officer in Van Buren County, Craig Norris transferred to Pickett County, where he remained for the rest of his career and became an integral part of the community; and WHEREAS, noted for his dedication to the community's needs and priorities, Officer Norris always served with his heart, whether he was educating hunters, enforcing boating safety laws on Dale Hollow Reservoir, conducting school programs, or connecting with hunters and anglers; and WHEREAS, he particularly enjoyed working the walleye run on the East Fork of the Obey River and interacting with his fellow officers; and WHEREAS, his TWRA commanding officer praised Mr. Norris as "a steady hand and a great community officer" who approached "even the most stressful situations with a calmness, experience, and knowledge"; and WHEREAS, Craig Norris grew up in Overton County, hunting and fishing with his dad; his childhood dream was to become a game warden; and - 2 - 007953 WHEREAS, working to fulfill that dream, he obtained a degree in wildlife management from Tennessee Technological University in 1989 and soon thereafter began his illustrious career with TWRA; and WHEREAS, his many professional accomplishments aside, Craig Norris is most grateful for the love and companionship he shares with his wife, Stephanie, who has always supported him in his career; and WHEREAS, Officer Craig Norris has served TWRA and the State of Tennessee with the greatest acumen and devotion, and he is worthy of our approbation on this special occasion; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we honor Craig Norris upon the occasion of his retirement from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and extend to him our best wishes for much continued success and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
