<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE RESOLUTION 131 By Parkinson HR0131 007960 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to honor Assistant Coach Marcus Taylor for his contributions to the 96-0 Elmore Park Middle School Eagles' third consecutive state championship in three perfect seasons. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should pay tribute to an excellent coach who has helped lead his team to astounding success in athletic competition and an unprecedented State record; and WHEREAS, Assistant Coach Marcus Taylor helped guide Bartlett's Elmore Park Middle School Eagles boys' basketball team to its third consecutive TMSAA Class AAA state championship in 2025, capping a third consecutive undefeated season with a perfect 31-0 record; and WHEREAS, the Eagles' overall record during this three-peat championship run is an incredible 96-0; the team's record for the last four years is 118-3; and WHEREAS, Elmore Park's three consecutive state titles with an undefeated record in each season is a first at any level of basketball in the State of Tennessee, truly an incredible feat and a tribute to Coach Taylor's inspired leadership; and WHEREAS, in the 2025 TMSAA Class AAA state tournament at Rockvale, Elmore Park crushed Page 51-24 and then trounced Richview 53-32 to earn the three-peat and bring home the gold; and WHEREAS, Marcus Taylor has distinguished himself as a great basketball coach, tactician, and motivator of young men, and he should be appropriately recognized on this special occasion; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRE SENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we honor - 2 - 007960 Assistant Coach Marcus Taylor for his contributions to the 96-0 Elmore Park Middle School Eagles winning their third consecutive state championship in three perfect seasons and extend to him our best wishes for every continued success in all his future endeavors.
