SUMMARY OF BILL: Extends the termination date of the Department of Financial
Institutions to June 30, 2029. Under the Tennessee Governmental Entity Review Law, the
department is scheduled to terminate on June 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• This legislation continues an existing entity at its current funding level.
• According to the Department of Finance and Administration’s 2024-2025 Work Program,
total funding for the department for FY24-25 is $34,862,000 ($34,859,600 state; and $2,400
other revenue).
