SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires the Department of Transportation (TDOT) to provide an
annual written summary to the House Transportation Committee and the Transportation and Safety
Committee of the Senate no later than March 15, beginning in 2026, regarding placards issued to
manufactured home transporters, including data on unsafe and erratic driving reported via the
phone number on the placards.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 55-4-11(b)(1), TDOT currently provides placards to annual
permit holders of manufactured home transporters.
• Delivering the annual summary, beginning on March 15, 2026, can be accomplished within
existing resources and personnel of TDOT; therefore, any fiscal impact to state government
will be not significant.
