SB 182 FISCAL NOTE Fiscal Review Committee Tennessee General Assembly January 18, 2025 Fiscal Analyst: Chris Higgins | Email: chris.higgins@capitol.tn.gov | Phone: 615-741-2564 SB 182 SUMMARY OF BILL: Requires the Department of Health (DOH) to compile a report concerning the practice of anesthesiology, which, at a minimum, includes data concerning how many anesthesiologists are practicing in this state, how many persons are currently engaged in anesthesiology residencies in this state, how many persons are graduating from educational programs in anesthesiology in this state, and suggestions on how to increase the number of anesthesiologists in this state. Requires DOH to submit such report to the chair of the committee of the House of Representatives with jurisdiction over subject matters pertaining to health and the Chair of the Health and Welfare Committee of the Senate, by January 1, 2026. FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • The DOH can compile and submit the required report utilizing existing personnel and resources, without a significant increase in expenditures. • Any fiscal impact to state or local government is estimated to be not significant.
