HB 208 – SB 276 FISCAL NOTE Fiscal Review Committee Tennessee General Assembly February 1, 2025 Fiscal Analyst: Rebecca Chandler | Email: rebecca.chandler@capitol.tn.gov | Phone: 615-741-2564 HB 208 – SB 276 SUMMARY OF BILL: Designates the National Guard Armory in Cheatham County as the "First Sergeant Charles Anderson Douglas National Guard Armory". Directs the Department of Military (DOM) to erect signage and markers designating the name change using existing resources. FISCAL IMPACT: STATE GOVERNMENT EXPENDITURES General Fund FY25-26 $12,500 Assumptions: • Requiring DOM to fund the implementation of this legislation utilizing existing resources does not remove the cost associated with the implementation because use of existing funding will result in the need for additional resources to fund other currently-budgeted departmental expenditures. • Based on information provided by DOM, the cost for aluminum block letters is $130 per letter. The cost to produce the 54 letters required by the proposed legislation is estimated to be $7,020 ($130 per letter x 54 letters). • It is estimated to cost $5,480 for installation, accounting for equipment, materials, and other necessary expenses for proper placement of the letters. • There will be a one-time increase in state expenditures in FY25-26 of $12,500 ($7,020 for lettering + $5,480 for installation). CERTIFICATION: The information contained herein is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. Bojan Savic, Executive Director
