SUMMARY OF BILL: Expands the designation of scenic rivers in the state by adding
specific segments of Beaverdam Creek, Duck River, Lick Creek, Piney River, and Swan Creek to the
Class II Pastoral River Areas classification.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumption:
• The proposed legislation expands the scenic river designations, but does not impose new
regulatory, management, or enforcement requirements on the Department of
Environment and Conservation. Therefore, the expansion does not require additional
funding, staffing, or resources from the department.
