Establishes the right of an individual to engage in activities associated with fertility treatment and contraception in the state. FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • Establishing the right of an individual to perform, and the right of an individual to receive or use, fertility treatment and contraceptives in the state will not have a significant impact on policies or procedures of the Department of Health or the health-related boards. • The proposed legislation does not require health insurance entities to provide coverage for any specific fertility treatment or contraceptive. • Any impact to the Division of Benefits Administration, TennCare, or the Department of Commerce and Insurance is estimated to be not significant. • The proposed legislation will not result in a significant change in the number of prosecutions for the offense of criminal abortion under Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-15-213(b). • Any impact to the court system as a result of the proposed legislation is estimated to be not significant.
