HB 566 - SB 585 FISCAL NOTE Fiscal Review Committee Tennessee General Assembly February 8, 2025 Fiscal Analyst: Chris Higgins | Email: chris.higgins@capitol.tn.gov | Phone: 615-741-2564 HB 566 - SB 585 SUMMARY OF BILL: Authorizes the Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP) within the Department of Finance and Administration (F&A) to use existing resources, if available, and seek appropriate funding and resources from the federal and state governments to design and implement grants to reduce gun violence in the state. FISCAL IMPACT: NOT SIGNIFICANT Assumptions: • Based on information previously provided by F&A, it is assumed that all of OCJP's resources are currently allocated toward existing programs and OCJP will need to seek additional funding for a new grant program. • The OCJP can seek funding utilizing existing personnel and resources; therefore, any fiscal impact to F&A or OCJP is estimated to be not significant. • The impact of any future grant program to reduce gun violence is dependent on the availability and timing of future funding received by OCJP and cannot be reasonably determined. CERTIFICATION: The information contained herein is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. Bojan Savic, Executive Director
