SUMMARY OF BILL: Prohibits the Registry of Election Finance from charging a member
of the public, who is requesting a copy of an election finance report for inspection, more than the
actual cost of producing such copies.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NOT SIGNIFICANT
Assumptions:
• Campaign financial disclosure reports are available free of charge on the Bureau of Ethics
and Campaign Finance website.
• The proposed legislation will not result in a significant increase in the number of individuals
requesting copies of election finance reports and can therefore be handled within existing
state resources.
• Limiting the amount that can be charged for a copy of a report will not result in any
significant decrease in state revenue.
